WHAT’S THE NAME OF THAT MOVIE AGAIN?

Don’t you hate it when you can’t think of the name of something? I can’t think of the name of a movie I liked when I was a kid. I think it came out in the 80’s. I thought it had the Coreys in it, but I didn’t see it on Netflix under their names. It’s 3 kids, one of them is Asian I think, and they build a rocket and it goes up into space and they get picked up by aliens and then they have to get home. I think they aliens were kind of green and blobular. Can anybody think of the name of this movie?

Okay, I just found it online. I love the internet. I typed in “movie kids build rocket to space” to Google and got the answer “The Explorers” immediately. What did the world ever do without the internet and instant gratification? And it turns out it was Ethan Hawke, River Phoenix, and Jason Presson. None of them are Asian, but one wears glasses. Here’s one of the aliens.

 

SPINNING IS DANGEROUS

I used to think that spinning was safe. I can’t crash, get hit by a car, or fall over. But I can have my clip come unclipped and then my foot hit the floor, and the pedal go full speed into my calf, and then somehow have the other pedal hit the back of my other leg, I’m still not sure how that happened, and then still be in pain a week later. Here are my two big bruises. Ouch.

B-DAY PRESENT FROM A

First off I am going to give my friend A a pseudonym because I am sick of calling her A. So from now on she is Appelina (A-peh-lee-na). I don’t know why, she just is. And last night Hubby and I went to her place with her boyfriend (now known as Jacques instead of J) and of course Dottie to celebrate my birthday. We had bbq chicken with Jacques’ homemade sauce, which was very good, and green beans (healthy), baked potatoes, and garlic cheese toast (not healthy). Then we had cake and candy and ice cream and ice cream cake (leftover from lunch at mother-in-law’s house). Here is a picture of Appelina’s present to me. It’s a real tiny book! How does this woman know what my kitties do? I laughed at the belly swing, my last cat used to do that. One of our current cats, Squeaky, has the flop down perfectly. Charlie is a good Linebacker and Prairie Dog.
