This year is the city of Burbank’s 100th birthday. Last Friday was the “birthday party,” a celebration in downtown Burbank. Appelina, J, and I walked down there to check it out. It was CROWDED. If it wasn’t within walking distance I wouldn’t have gone. Here are the two highlights that I enjoyed most.

There’s a classic car club in Burbank and they were at the street party showing off their cars. In this old police cruiser was a dog getting a lot of attention. I’m pretty sure he was sleeping through all of it though.

There was also a cool swing band which performed a USO show. They were the Wartime Radio Revue. They were nice to listen to, and a ton of couples were dancing.

I think this is what my friend Appelina must have looked like the day after her birthday party.

Atrocities like this only come around once a generation. It is almost too horrible to describe, and those dared to gaze upon it shudder and wake screaming in the night. It is known as…CHERPUMPLE!!!

It appears to be a normal cake, but the trickle of goo is an ill omen.

Burnt offerings are placed upon it in an ancient ritual.

JB goes mad as he looks upon the horror.

Appelina smiles wickedly as she gazes upon the monstrosity that she brought into this world.

The sacrifice has begun!

Shield your eyes lest ye go mad!!

I am going mad just looking upon it! How can something such as this exist in a sane world? Cherry pie baked into a chocolate cake, on top of pumpkin pie baked into a yellow cake, on top of of an apple pie baked into a spice cake!! All topped with frosting and colorful sprinkles!! OH NO!!

Oh the horror of it all!!

Thankfully the monster cannot survive long in our world, and implodes upon itself, thus sparing all those who were not present at Appelina's and JB's BIRTHDAY PARTY OF DOOM.

And coming soon, REVENGE OF CHERPUMPLE!!!!

* Please excuse the blurry photos, I was drunk.

* If you every decide to attempt this horror, I suggest putting the pumpkin pie on the bottom, it’s more structurally sound than apple pie.

Or at least living a really long time, according to the world’s oldest man, Walter Breuning:

Cigarettes, whiskey and wild, wild women — and a good sense of humor.

This was taken from here.

Today is my dad’s 69th birthday and I am going to try not to be horribly depressed all day. My  mom is coming over after I get off work and she, Hubby, and I will have dinner. Here are two pictures of my dad. One is when he was in his 20’s with his Triumph and some neighborhood boys. The second is from about 6 years ago on vacation in Washington. I miss my dad. I wish I could say Happy Birthday to him again.
