12 LITTLE DUCKS ALL IN A ROW

My mom’s friend recently had some new guests at her swimming pool, a mamma duck and her 10 babies!! (Can you spot the 12th duck?) They are so cute! I guess she made a ramp out of the pool for the babies out of a garden trellis and a towel. Adorable! Needless to say nobody is going to use the pool until the babies have grown up and moved on.

Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of my dad’s death and I feel like crap. I haven’t felt like doing anything and spent most of the day eating carbs. Dottie was nice and brought me some flowers. There are lots of nice images on cute overload to express how I feel today.

START SAVING FOR THERAPY

I love these Halloween costumes for babies. 2 people I know are having babies, although not in time for this Halloween. When I eventually have a kid he/she will be dressed like a cute little animal all the time. And when I have a dog it will be dressed like some other animal.

DINNER AT DA PASQUALE

Saturday night my family and I went to Da Pasquale in Beverly Hills for dinner to break the Yom Kippur fast. This restaurant has the best marinated grilled veggie antipasto. Each veggie is marinated in a different way. I love the zucchini, eggplant, and carrots. I could eat them every day. We ate them before I remembered to take a picture. They also have fresh bread that you can dip in olive oil or balsamic vinegar. Here’s a pic:

I also forgot to take a picture of my salad. Here is half my meal. I got the pasta special. Two big sheets of pasta, one stuffed with spinach and cheese, the other with beef and bechamel sauce, then baked.

For dessert Hubby and I shared an Italian style cheesecake, Torta di Ricotta all’Arancio, and my mom had lemon sorbet served in a lemon, which made her very happy:

It was a good dinner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD

Today is my dad’s 69th birthday and I am going to try not to be horribly depressed all day. My¬† mom is coming over after I get off work and she, Hubby, and I will have dinner. Here are two pictures of my dad. One is when he was in his 20’s with his Triumph and some neighborhood boys. The second is from about 6 years ago on vacation in Washington. I miss my dad. I wish I could say Happy Birthday to him again.
