A few days ago I bought a chocolate cookbook at a local thrift store for $5.50 (originally $35.00, what a savings!). This is the cookbook, Bittersweet, by Alice Medrich:
I decided to make the Bittersweet Decadence Chocolate/Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe, which seemed very simple. Here’s how the cookies are supposed to look:
However, I have a million-year-old electric oven which does not like to bake things. Also, the recipe said to line your baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. I used wax paper. Two minutes later smoke was pouring out of my oven. So I trashed that batch and tried to bake another batch without lining the baking sheet. So the cookies got burned. Here’s how my cookies looked:
The cookie on the bottom right is flipped over so you can see the charred underside. I was SAD!!! So to console myself I went to get margaritas with Appelina and her man. Hurray for margaritas!!
