I’M CRAFTY

My sister-in-law is pregnant and is going to have a boy around Christmas. So I decided to make a quilt since I’m going to be an Auntie! This is my first quilt. It’s not perfect, but it’s only going to get puked and pooped on anyway. It’s about 3×3 feet. I hope she likes it.

I also made a pillow out of the fabric that I printed a green leaf on during my printmaking class a few weeks ago. The gray print is the original fabric pattern. I bought a pillow form from the fabric store. I’m going to give it to Appelina since she loves prints.

ANIMAL SCARVES

So my friend M, who actually needs a pseudonym, I think I shall call her Madame, because she has french heritage and I don’t feel like typing out Mademoiselle all the time since I don’t even know how to spell it. Anyway, Madame is knitting me an alligator scarf, which looks something like this:

And while looking at the site where she got the pattern, I found this, which I think Appelina will like:

I’m eating my cereal today for the first time from the bowl that I made in pottery. Hurray for me! Here is a picture of my work of art that is CEREAL BOWL.

RENEGADE SHOPPING FAIR

So today my friend A and her man J and I went to the Renegade Craft Fair in downtown Los Angeles at the Cornfields park. It was a lot of fun and I spent too much money. I bought a lovely wide buckle bracelet from Leighelenda. Mine was black/silver with a silver buckle. They look like this:

I got an adorable evil bunny mug from Skeletal Dropkick that looks like this:

Back of Mug

And finally I bought my husband S a cool numbered limited edition print by the artist Jesse Kuhn at Raw Toast Design:

Full Moon Tonight

He has lots of great prints. I might buy some more from his website.  I particularly like Poor Little Calamari and Three Blind Mice.

There were also lots of hipsters around, naturally. I tried to take pictures of some but A’s elbow kept getting in the way.
