These are from the hike I went on last week, after the really big snow. All the snow nearby is gone now, it’s just on the mountains in the distance. Hubby and I hiked for 3 hours that day!! And then came home and took a nap.

Saturday started out like any other winter day in Los Angeles – it was bright and sunny. Here is the sky over the Verdugo Mountains near our place.
But then later that day, while I wan’t paying attention, it snowed! This time down to 1000 feet! It was everywhere near our apartment:
snow on the ground!
snow on my car!
more snow on my car!
snow covering my back window so I couldn't see behind me when we went out!
and the next morning, snow on the Verdugo Mountains! although it doesn't look like much from here.
I live in Los Angeles. Every once in a while during the winter, we get this strange phenomenon called “snow.” It’s this frozen water that appears overnight like magic! Considering our winters rarely get below 50F degrees, getting snow in the nearby mountains low enough to hike to is very rare indeed. It snowed over the weekend so Hubby and I took the opportunity to hike to some nearby snow in the Angeles Forest.
